Season the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with paprika, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
For thicker chicken breasts, you can gently pound them to an even thickness. This helps them cook more evenly.
Sear the Chicken
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5–6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.
Cook the Garlic
Reduce the heat to medium and add the lactose-free butter or another tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet.
Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Be careful not to let the garlic burn.
Make the Creamy Sauce
Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and scrape up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Add the lactose-free cooking cream and red pepper flakes, if using. Stir well and allow the sauce to simmer gently for 2–3 minutes.
Return the Chicken to the Skillet
Place the chicken breasts back into the sauce.
Reduce the heat and let everything simmer together for another 3–5 minutes. Spoon some of the sauce over the chicken as it cooks.
The sauce should become slightly thicker while the chicken absorbs the garlic and herb flavors.
Finish and Serve
Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the chicken with fresh parsley.
Serve immediately with rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or crusty bread.
